Our meeting on Thursday 23rd January was organized by Nick Simpson and Nick’s theme for the meeting was Deep Bowl Hollowing. He had all 5 lathes in operation all doing various things but with hollowing being the main theme.

I was extremely disappointed to have to cancel the previous meeting on account of the weather, although the main roads were kept relatively clear the side roads were very bad, as was the car parks in the village, it was this aspect that determined whether or not the meeting could go ahead more than anything else, I felt the hall car park in particular and the short walk to the clubhouse door were dangerous and that meant we had to cancel.

Please be advised our scheduled meeting on Thursday 9th January has been CANCELLED.
As a result of the inclement weather we have no other option than to cancel this week’s meeting. The forecast is for more snow and plunging temperatures in the next 3 days. Getting in or out of the hall car park could be tricky as too the path down to the club door.
Our meetings will continue on the 23rd January weather permitting.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 9th January 2025. It has been organized by myself (Alec Mutch) and the subject matter is working with Natural Edges or inclusions, that could mean a piece of faceplate work or something made between centres, as long as some of the natural elements are left on the item that’s being made will fulfil the criteria.
