Start time 7.00pm.
This meeting has been called by your committee to discuss and vote on the proposed change to our club by becoming a charity. This change to a charity has certain advantages for the club which will all be explained at the meeting. If approved there will be a new constitution which we have already posted on our web site, it’s largely similar in structure but goes into much more detail, do take a look.
The name of our club will not change and as a club member nothing will appear to change, some of the workings of the committee will change but the responsibilities for the elected officials will remain the same.
Do come to this very important meeting, it will be the members who finally decide the club’s future, we want as many of you the members to attend as possible.
There will be no turning at this meeting, just a discussion and some voting to be done.
There will be tea/coffee available for a small donation of 50p. and we will have the usual raffle.
Here are a couple of pictures of the latest activities with the Wood Mizer cutting some logs into slabs for me and also some blanks that are ready to use in my drying shed.
Most of the logs we cut were ok for size to go straight onto the saw, but there were a couple of logs we had to chain saw first to get them onto the saw, as seen in the picture top left.
Top left, James Nairn on the Wood Mizer, top right, a selection of timber milled by James. Bottom left, a selection of burr’s taken off the logs, bottom right, some of the blanks now ready to use, having been air dries over 3 years.
Do please attend the meeting.
